This Posthumously released autobiography from John Le Mesurier on his life and career, is perhaps one of the best autobiographies I have read and certainly a must for any Dad's Army fan to read. John traces his life chronologically from his early years, through to his interest in acting, his war career, his turbulent marriages and his friendship with Tony Hancock. Dad's Army gets a chapter devoted to it as well. John projects himself well through this book and his final lines are rather moving as he seemed to be aware his career (and possibly, life) was probably drawing to a close when he wrote this. Highly recommended! Andy Howells |
