The
Dad's Army Choir featured Arthur Lowe, John
Le Mesurier, Clive Dunn, John Laurie, James Beck,
Arnold Ridley, Ian Lavender and Bill Pertwee.
This
rare single was the second of two singles released by
Columbia Records in the early 1970's featuring the leading
cast members of Dad's Army. Both songs written
and produced by John Worth, encapsulated the vocal talents
of the cast and make enjoyable listening.
"Down Our Way"
is performed in the style and tempo of Flanagan and Allen
whilst "We Stood Alone" is a tribute
to the characters of Walmington-on-Sea's Home Guard with
solo parts for the 8 main characters, Mainwaring, Wilson,
Jones. Frazer, Walker, Godfrey, Pike and Hodges.
