BBC 2 host an Arthur Lowe evening
Arthur Lowe fans will be pleased to know that BBC 2 will host a selection of programmes starring Arthur Lowe on September 21st 2002. The evening of viewing commences at 21:05, with a new 50 minute Reputations documentary about Arthur Lowe, based on Graham Lord's new book begins the evening. Further information on this programme has already been featured on the previous Dad's Army News page. Reputations is followed at 21:55 sees a repeat of the 50 minute 1998 documentary, "Don't Panic! - The Dad's Army Story" presented by Victoria Wood. (This was also shown as part of BBC 2's Dad's Army night last December). At 22:45 a classic Dad's Army episode is repeated. "Is There Honey Still For Tea?" shows Captain Mainwaring's vain attempts to influence the War Office into saving Godfrey's Cottage. Finally at 23:15 the 1968 Lindsay Anderson movie "If..." features Arthur Lowe opposite Malcolm McDowell in a story about a revolution lead by pupil Mick Travers which takes place at an old established private school in England. The evening promises to be a feast of programmes for any fan of Arthur Lowe and indeed Dad's Army!
