Mainwaring decides to promote Private Frazer, much to Jones disdain.
However, what
he thinks will be good competition for the two turns into vicious
rivalry, then Corporal-Colonel Square arrives and Frazer's true
colours are finally revealed!

Michael Knowles who along with Harold Snoad adapted the
Radio episodes makes an appearance in this episode as Captain
Bailey. Michael Knowles of course is well known as 'Silly
Ass' Captain Ashwood from Jimmy Perry and David Croft's
"It Ain't Half Hot Mum".
This
is the last radio episode to feature Jimmy Beck as Private
Walker, shortly after completing recording of this episode
Jimmy became seriously ill and was admitted to hospital.
He later died on the 6th August 1973.
Arnold
Ridley did not appear in this episode.
